Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you travel?

   A. HECK YEAH!! I love to travel, so much that I offer incentive packages for destination weddings and adventure shoots. Hit me up right away, let's talk all about your ideas!

Q. What should I wear to my session? Any Suggestions?

     A. Sure do! I have great resources for guides on what to wear, let me know you're interested and I'll send some more in depth info right over. But, in general - it's whatever makes you most comfortable and feel your absolute best. I'm all for buying a new outfit if it will bring out your best, but I always suggest only wearing things that you normally would wear on date together or a fun afternoon. Things that photograph well are: patterns, layers and accessories. Coordinate your colors, even match a few here and there, but try to avoid all wearing the same color. Most of all be comfortable and confident.

Q. Will you pose us for our portraits?

   A. This is probably one of my most asked questions from couples, don't worry, I repeat do not worry. I won't leave you hanging and feeling awkward. Our time together will be mostly be just lauging, looking at each other, joke telling, story sharing, running around hang time as friends. If the time comes where you need some directing I will be right there to help. promise.

Q. We don't really need an engagement session. Do you think it's important or can we skip?

  A. Well, I am ALL ABOUT shooting as much as possible. Your engagement session together is just another way we can connect before the big day! Not only will it be fun to hang together, it will also get you used to being in front of the camera and seeing how I work and how you feel. I absolutely LOVE engagement sessions. They are laid back and usually are just 2 hours of laughing. They're the best.

 Q. What's your turn-around time?

     A. I try to get your pictures back to you ASAP - I definitely know you are anxious and excited to see them. I am super excited for you; but I do want your images to be as perfect as possible so I hand edit each and every one. This usually takes at least 3 weeks for portrait sessions and anywhere around 10 weeks for weddings. I do give facebook and instagram previews though so make sure to check those sites often.

Q. What program do you use for editing?

     A. Photoshop + Lightroom

Q. How long have you been shooting?

     A. Honestly, for as long as I can remember. Professionally, this will be my sixth year. And I feel so blessed to be able to do this for a living. This quote pretty much sums up my life, "I simply do not distinguish between work and play" ~ Mary Oliver

Q. What's in your bag?

   A. Canon 5D Mark iv | Canon 5D Mark iii | Canon 5D Mark ii | Lenses: 24-70|2.8, 35|1.4,  50|1.4, 85|1.8, 70-200L|2.8, 10-20mm, Canon Speedlights

Q. Did you go to school for photography?

     A. Actually, I went to UGA (go dawgs!) and majored in psychology and minored in sociology. I do attend workshops and classes as there are always new techniques and information to learn. I love to learn especially if it's going to make your pictures better.

Q. How did you get started in photography?

  A. I have always been interested in shooting and played around with film and digital. But, I really embraced it while studying abroad in college. I had all these unbelieveable opportunities while living with gypsies in Romania and being surrounded by amazing landscapes and architecture. I was more inspired than ever. I came home, bought a manual camera and the rest is history.

Q. How many weddings have you photographed?

  A. I have shot (and cried, and laughed, and danced) at over 100 weddings.

Q. Do you ever give lessons on how to use and shoot with a DLSR camera?

     A. Absolutely!! I am an open book, and am more than happy to help you in any way I can. I love my craft and I feel so blessed and honored to be able to do what I do, sharing it just makes my heart sing. So let's get coffee and chat!

Q. Do you have recommendations on where to print our photos?

  A. My absolute favorite places to print is Mpix, Artifact Uprising and Nations Lab. All are online labs and do amazing work. Don't forget, I offer professional prints and albums as well.

Q. Do you give all the RAW and unedited photos from our session/wedding?

 A. I only release images that are culled, prepared, and edited for you. It's my job to sift through all the duplicates and closed eyes, light testing images and create a gallery that best represents your day. However, I would never throw away a great picture (and believe me there is greatness in an unplanned photo) though so you can rest assured you will be recieving all the keepers!

Q. Do you use your images for publication?

  A. Yes, I love to submit my work of your beautiful pictures to blogs and other publications for features. I'm always honored to be selected for a feature, and my couples love to know that their story is one that everyone else gets to admire as well. I do reserve all rights to my photos publications purposes - and how cool is it that your photos may end up in a great publication!
